Carrier Corporation to occupy 33,633 sf Rivercom Building on North Shore
Carrier Sales & Distribution, a subsidiary of Carrier Corporation, has leased the 33,633 square-foot Rivercom Building located at 720 E. Lacock St. on the North Shore. The one-story building is owned by Rivercom Associates, L.P., a partnership of the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation and Crossgates, Inc., and is managed by Crossgates Management, Inc.
The Rivercom building has been totally renovated for Carrier, providing both job growth and future customers who will be traveling from around the region to this location on the North Shore, says Gregg Schwotzer, president and CEO of Crossgates, Inc.
Carrier, who is consolidating their western Pennsylvania operations, will initially employ twelve people in the building's offices, showroom and warehouse areas. Rivercom Associates has a long-term lease with Carrier, but we envision this site could eventually be developed for other uses in the future, such as offices, says Schwotzer. We believe the North Shore offers tremendous opportunities for economic growth and look forward to other projects in the area.
Gerry McLaughlin and Brandon Snyder of Grubb & Ellis represented Rivercom Associates, and USI Realty Services represented Carrier in the leasing deal. With more than 41,000 employees and operations in 172 countries, Farmington, Connecticut-based Carrier is the world's largest provider of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions.
