The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) sponsored a statewide quilt-making project for elderly residents in PHFA financed properties, and both Emery Towers (Bradford) and Carson Towers (Pittsburgh) encouraged their residents to participate.  The results were three beautiful quilts, which were initially displayed during a recent 3-day conference in State College and will be permanently displayed in the three PHFA offices in the state.

The project was so much fun for the residents that it has continued at Emery Towers, and the residents made and donated a quilt to their building for display in the office.

Crossgates Management, Inc. is pleased to announce that four properties managed in the Pittsburgh area received recognition from the Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh (AAMP).  In a ceremony held 7/13/2011 at Carson Towers on the South Side, Carson Towers, Swissvale Towers, Homewood House, and Twin Towers all received awards for excellence in curb appeal.  Congratulations to all four properties and their staff for success in this event!

At the annual PAHMA Fall Conference at Seven Springs Resort, a number of properties managed by Crossgates Management, Inc. were recognized for scoring high on their last Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) physical inspections.  These inspections are conducted on behalf of HUD by independent inspectors using a rigid criteria designed to ensure properties are maintained in decent, safe, and sanitary conditions.  Scoring is on a scale of 100.  Out of 27 properties inspected, 15 scored 90 or better:

Matthew Crocker was appointed the Vice Chairman of BOMA Central PA.  This is the first year a chapter exclusively serving Central PA has been established.  He will also serve as the Membership Committee Chairman.  BOMA is an educational and advocacy group serving the interests of professionals in the commercial real estate industry.  Chapters are formed to further those initiatives as well as bring professionals in the industry together.

Matthew Crocker was also appointed as the co-chairman of the Harrisburg Young Professionals Membership Committee.  In this role he is responsible for the administration of over 800 members as well as working to increase membership through sales and marketing initiatives.  Matthew was also appointed as the HYP representative with Capital Region Economic Development Committee.  He will represent the interests and serve as a liaison on behalf of HYP.  The Harrisburg Young Professionals is an organization working to make Harrisburg a better place to live, work and play through volunteer initiatives and civic discourse.  HYP draws members from the Central Pennsylvania Region and has seen dramatic increase in membership over the past 3 years.

Crossgates has entered into a build to suit contract for a 20,000 square foot industrial building in the California Technology Park, in California PA. Crossgates teamed up with Al Neyer Inc and Fayette Engineering to complete the project. Al Neyer Inc is acting as the general contractor, and Fayette Engineering was hired to perform all the civil engineering and building layout for the project. The job was completed on January 31st, 2011. Currently the tenant is moving into the new facility and is scheduled to open on March 1st.

Central PA Office, Harrisburg, PA – April 2010 – Crossgates Management, Inc. (CMI) was hired by U-GRO Learning Centres to manage three of its day care facility locations totaling 30,000 square feet.  CMI manages the day-to-day maintenance needs as well as U-GRO's compliance with state inspection laws. 

CMI currently manages locations in York, Lancaster and Harrisburg.
